Boys Varsity Basketball
|Milton High School & Middle School||43|
|Winooski High/Middle School||40|
Playing only the second game of the season, and two weeks since the last game, Milton struggled on the offensive end, but were able to play strong defense down the stretch to take a hard earned win at Winooski. After Winooski took a 20 – 19 lead at halftime, we could tell that the games would come down to the closing minutes, and our defense got the needed stops securing a 43 - 40 win. Give a lot of credit to Winooski, they played with a lot of energy, and caused us to miss a lot of shots that we normally make. I’m proud of how hard our guys fought till the end even though we did not score the ball well. All players gave us something positive tonight, and needed every bit of it. Ian Jennings (12 pt, 8 rebs) and Seth Herrity (10 pts, 4 rebs) put together good games, but I’d say the Deven Creamer (10 pts, 8 rebs) made the biggest difference tonight. He fought hard on the glass, and gave us needed scoring as well. In the closing minutes, despite our team shooting poorly from the FT Line, Ian Jennings went 5-8 from the FT line and Deven went 3-4 giving us the final edge for the win.
